Milan Chakrabarty, MD, is a distinguished gastroenterologist and internal medicine specialist. He currently leads GI-Excellence in Hemet, California, a practice that initially began as the Hemet Endoscopy Center. He is highly regarded for his expertise in advanced interventional endoscopy, which focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating complex gastrointestinal conditions. His specialized areas include Barrett's Esophagus, Biliary Disease, pancreatic cysts, gastrointestinal bleeding, and gastrointestinal cancers. His proficiency in these areas has made him a sought-after expert in the medical community, with hospitals across the region frequently consulting him for his specialized knowledge.

More than 43 years ago, Dr. Chakrabarty became the first gastroenterologist to establish a practice in Southern California's Inland Empire, covering San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. His practice is built on a foundation of compassionate care, with a dedicated team working alongside him to ensure patients receive the highest standard of treatment. The facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology, providing advanced care options that set it apart in the region.

His early life experiences influenced his journey into medicine. Born in Kolkata and raised in Mumbai, India, he grew up in a family deeply rooted in the medical profession. His father, grandfather, and three uncles were all physicians, and their influence significantly influenced his decision to pursue a medical career. As a young boy, he often assisted his father in his medical practice, gaining invaluable experience and understanding of the field, while his mother was instrumental in his education.

Milan Chakrabarty, MD, pursued his medical education at Grand Medical School College, Mumbai University, where he earned his M.B.B.S. degree. He then completed an internship at J.J. Group of Hospitals and a residency at St. George Hospital in Mumbai, followed by specialized training through subspecialty rotations at G.T. Hospital. After training in India, he moved to England and worked in Internal Medicine at Mount Pleasant Hospital, Cardiff University, for three years.

Upon relocating to the United States, Dr. Chakrabarty continued his medical training as a Resident Physician at the Metropolitan Jewish Medical Center in Coney Island, New York. He further honed his expertise during an Internal Medicine residency at St. Clare's Hospital & Health Center in Manhattan, followed by a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center & Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In the early 1980s, he moved to Hemet, California, where he played a crucial role in establishing the G.I. Department at Hemet Valley Medical Center. He became the first Hospice Medical Director in Sun City, California 1982. In 1992, he founded the Hemet Endoscopy Center and later expanded his practice by establishing the Hemacinto Medical Group. By 2004, he had built new medical and state-of-the-art surgery centers to serve his community further.

Milan Chakrabarty, MD, is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has also contributed to medical research, co-authoring studies such as "Determination of Circulating D.N.A. Levels in Patients with Benign or Malignant Gastrointestinal Disease, Cancer." Additionally, he has shared his expertise through seminars and presentations on various topics, including "Colon Cancer Awareness."

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Chakrabarty enjoys collecting European antiques, sculptures, and paintings, many of which are displayed in his office. He is also passionate about cars, stamp collecting, photography, traveling, and boating and has recently developed an interest in painting.

Milan S. Chakrabarty, MD, continues to focus on advancing patient care and is currently developing a Longevity and Wellness Center in Hemet, where he plans to offer stem cell treatments as part of his ongoing dedication to improving the health and well-being of his patients.
